The LiCELL-AH500 is designed to combat the thermal runaway of lithium battery fires, the LiCELL™  AH500 is a portable fire extinguisher that contains an AVD (Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion) chemical. It is appropriate for electrical fires, Class A flames, and lithium batteries (Li-ion and Li-poly). This eco-friendly extinguisher is safe for people, pets, and plants and has no global warming potential (GWP).

The primary cause of lithium battery fires is thermal runaway, which can be attributed to cell failure due to damage, flaws, short circuits, overcharging, or overheating. To prevent thermal runaway, the LiCELL™ extinguishers surround the fire source with a non-flammable oxygen barrier, which has a cooling effect. This might considerably protect lives and property from devastating fires.
